About Better Basics
Better Basics is an Indian slow fashion brand. We create thoughtfully designed, high-quality
essential clothing. Our products are designed in-house, produced at our facility in Noida, and
sold online.
We are looking for an organized, hands-on Merchandising and Operations Associate to
help us streamline sampling, production planning, and order dispatch while ensuring a high
standard of customer experience. This is a great role for someone with a background in
fashion design or merchandising who enjoys working across both creative and operational
workflows.

Key Responsibilities
Merchandising & Production
• Assist in coordinating new styles, fabric selection, and sampling timelines
• Track incoming fabrics, trims, and raw materials across vendors
• Work closely with the factory manager to align design intent with production
feasibility
• Maintain and update product data sheets, costing trackers, and inventory reports
• Liaise with vendors, printers, and suppliers for sampling and production requirements
Operations & Customer Support
• Ensure smooth order dispatch, returns coordination, and inventory updates
• Support backend order management on Shopify (edits, refunds, exchanges)
• Respond to select customer queries related to product sizing, returns, or delays
• Track product issues or size-related feedback to improve design/fit decisions
Cross-functional Coordination
• Liaise between factory, delivery partners, vendors, and external freelancers
• Assist in planning and executing restocks and new product launches

Qualifications/Requirements
• Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or a related field

• 0 to 2 years of experience in fashion production, buying/merchandising, or e-
commerce

• Highly organized and good with data, Excel, and documentation
• Comfortable working closely with both creative and production teams
• Strong communication skills—written and verbal
• Bonus: Familiarity with Shopify or interest in D2C brand operations
